That's OK, the forums are a pigsty anyway. Come on in, join the crowd.

Fifteen women have now come forward. Their stories are the same. Same pattern of behavior by Cosby.

It's possible that the ones who "came forward" later were modelling their stories off of the first few. I'm not saying they were. I'm saying it's possible, and that the number of similar stories in itself should not be used as evidence.

Yeah, celebrities always have to worry about copycats. But he's definitely facing a tsunami at this point.

I agree with Macer.  Has anyone else ever been accused of rape by 15 women out of the blue?

thatcham

So there is a blue, and 15 women are there?

Cosby has to drug and rape, poor guy, look at him, he gives ugly a bad name.

Neat.  Are you a Foucault-ite?

I think he's missing an opportunity. Regardless of his guilt or innocence, he should start a reality TV show; Call it "Cosby's Harem". People would watch; It'd be a hit.

The problem for Cosby is that these women seem to be coming out of the woodwork en masse. It's like some kind of dam broke and they're all surging toward the nearest microphone to relate their date rape experiences up to forty years ago. An indiscretion or two is one thing--decades of apparently structured behavior are entirely different. He comes off now as a stalky weirdo with a really kinked out fantasy life that he made into reality.

Payback, as they say, is a bitch.

Drugging a woman then raping her isn't an indiscretion, it's a felony.

The things that Bobby Fischer did were not all that disadvantageous to him. It has been shown that all the things that Fischer did that "society" considers weird, were in fact reasonable. And what is offensive? In some parts of the world if a woman does not cover her face she is considered  offensive and is stoned to death. Is that woman offensive or is it that  "society" offensive?   The fact is that when Fischer died he left two million dollars and two wives to fight over it. And who really cares what "society" in general thinks? The greatest geniuses in the world are those who went against "society." Did Cosby really rape and drug all those women or are they just a bunch of women trying to get publicity and money by coming forward and testifying against Cosby? It is a known fact that in show business one of the ways that females advance their careers is to prostitute themselves, maybe those women who are complaining about Cosby thought they could advance in show business by allowing Cosby to have his way. In other words, maybe these women are nothing more than a bunch of whore$.  None of the accusations were ever proven even though there was an investigation made at the time they supposedly happened.

Naa, I listened to some interviews and some amateur videos of Fischer talking about different subjects.  Maybe he wasn't too crazy in his youth (although I think you can make a case for it), but he was definitely crazy later in life.

And BTW, believing something because the majority agrees it's true is just as stupid as not believing something because the majority agrees it's true.

I.e. what the BBC, "society" or anyone else thinks is irrelevant.

Really?  A lifetime of rape and related activities punished by canceling some shows?  I'd say in this case payback isn't even a minor annoyance lol.

Wow. I have no idea how to respond to such a stupid comment, so I will just remain silent. That is beyond stupid, though.

If you're a whore. Try to get out more, "Dr."

DrSpudnik

I thought prostitutes were paid?!?! Undecided

Bill Cosby probably did it since 16 women have come forward. Their either trying to blackball him or he is actually guilty. But, since it happened over 40 years ago there really isn't enough if any tangible evidence to convict him. I just watched him talking about chess at www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_AhNHrfu4Q and he looks unmoved by the scandal. I don't know at this point if his career can be saved by talking about it, but he will have to address it eventually.

Wait... what? I know this isn't the focus of what we're talking about in this thread, but... I thought that Fischer was never married?

How do you define "crazy"? We've been conditioned to think of certain socially unacceptable behaviors, thoughts, etc as crazy, but... so what? So what if people think that he's crazy? That's simply other people using their standards and societal norms to judge him.

jesterville

Saying that someone is "crazy" or "mentally ill" or "a terrible person" is a ploy that's commonly used when we disagree with someone's opinions. Does not the Bible say "Judge not lest you be judged."

LOL...I find it very funny when people start quoting the Bible.

The Bible also said-

1. If you work on a Sunday...you should be killed.

2. If you are Homo...you should be killed.

3. If you do not obey your parents...you should be killed.

....so why are we true believers not following what the Bible says?
