Nah Bishops are better they have a nice long Diagonal

Knights can move on the diagonal too, it just takes longer. A knight can cover every square a bishop can.  But a bishop can only cover half the squares a knight can.

knights are very predictable, as they have 4 squares to move to. a bishop, however can control a wider range of squares.

It's white to move. What are the four squares the knight can move to here?

how did the knight get there? why did black ignore that last move?

The white knight got there from any of the 8 available squares, whichever one is was, black then moved to the square the knight was on. Black didn't ignore that last move, he moved there because he's a beginner.

Now, which are the 4 squares white can move his knight to?

Knights, because they are great for attacking Queens.

Botvinnik said once : " the greatest skill of a chess master, is to cultivate positions where the normal relative values of the pieces cease to apply. "

to me. a piece's value means  = where is it, & what's it doing

all the 8 squares it can move to are covered, so i am asking what it's last move was, and how black ignored it

The real questions is why are bishops even represented in a war game?

Why are they running around killing things?

What military background does a bishop have? Sure Christians like to go around killing things but the bishops never get their hands dirty.

It is time to get rid of the stinking bishops and replace them with the original piece of the elephant.

OK. the last move was Nd3. He moved there because he's a beginner.

@ifpatriotgames I do get it but I don't understand why you are asking this question

gullupakka

white's last move

gullupakka

yeah i get the point of how knights can go to many squares but the game is interesting, let me stop now, no need to answer my other question

Bishops!

bisyhops

SmartField

Bishops. They control more squares, and move faster than knights.

JT2007

I like knights. Bishops can only move to half the squares but knights can move to them all!!

JT2007

Also, have you ever seen a bishop fork or skewer?

JT2007

So go knights!!!

peeko4

bisyhops skewer and fork knights only fork
