Blitz, Bullet or Rapid: which format helps you improve more?

Rapids

Depends on you're elo, but generally for below 1000's you should always play atleast 10min or 15/10 - 20 minute ranges for better results and ALWAYS analyze them don't do blitz and expect too much improvement

5 min sucks. 3|2 is Best. With 40 move game you still get 4 min 20 sec + you can go on with a long endgame. + it's fair because you need some time just to move the piece with your mouse, you need compensation for that. 3|1 might be fair too for online. Also 3|2 is officially accepted by FIDE

Stop giving good chess advice 😡 your supposed to be whining about how it's rigged

Oh I'm so sorry, I forgot. Yes, so basically guys, Blitz, Bullet and Rapid are all rigged. Evil chess matrix agents do quantum time manipulations and change outcome of the games. Join Underground chess federation if you want to unleash your true chess powers.

Rapid improves you more since you have more time to think, more strategies to discover, and you can create more plans with the longer time control. Classical is good but chess.com doesn't have that tho.

And basket is back again saying chess is rigged. He'll never stop saying the same thing.

Play on Lichess then, it's a better platform to play chess anyways

Click more time controls, Rapid, 60 min. By FIDE's definition that's not Rapid anymore.

But I wouldn't risk my time playing against random people like that, it's better to play against bots (but not chess.com bots).

I like playing daily chess, it helps improve, you have a lot of time to think about your moves, you can see opening databases or books as well to help

More likely to get distracted

PedorosChes200

If you want to be more creative and intuitive, Blitz is great for forcing you to think fast and trust your instincts. ⚡

But if you need to improve your calculation and precision, Rapid gives you more time to analyze positions calmly.

I prefer rapid. I need a bit more time to think things through. But I can think really fast when I'm playing variants like bughouse.

U should play rapid until u r atleast 1500 then can switch to short time control but if u playing rapid don't play 30 min games as cheating can be faced

Plus beginners don't know how to use their time anyway so even if they think for 30 min they won't know what to do a time control like 5+3 or 10+2 would be good

Why 30 mins, even bullet has a lot of cheaters

In my opinion, if you want to improve pure chess skills, playing 10+0 rapid would be one of the best options compared to other formats.
