Blitz chess and my problem with it

yes it is the same... Because otherwise people will just start losing on time instead of resigning.. When they get into a losing position..
I used to lose a lot of games playing Blitz. However my game has improved and a win due to superior position, material or both is often within my grasp. My problem with Blitz is that I am losing a lot of my games on time.OK I am 70 years old and I should know better than play Blitz at my age. But I like it.
Question: Is a rating loss on time equivalent to a rating reduction based on mate or resignation on Chess.com? Does anyone know?
