Blundering a lot in games

Sort:
Vertemes

I noticed that I have a habit of blundering peices and overlooking very simple captures/ techniques. I also play more reactively and dont exactly think a lot of moves ahead. Is there a certain method that could help me eliminate blunders while also helping me build strategy.

Hey! You challenged me today… gg. Are you having trouble with blundering? Always take a few extra seconds each move, just in case

This is one of my games that I just played. It said I blundered once, but I see that I missed some potential attacks in my games. I want to really be able to minimize blunders and mistakes to zero so I can blow past this area.

I don't know, i am a horrible player myself so take it with a pinch of salt, but logically: Take a set amount of time per move before you move. Once you find a move, take at least 15 seconds before you actually execute the move.

instead of hanging pieces, try being the one chomping on hanging pieces

Just think more about your moves. If you play 15/10, you especially don't need to hurry up. Take your time, think about plans, what you are going to do. And if you're a beginner, which you are, you can also check if the square that you're going to place your piece to, isn't covered by your opponent's pieces. This way you can avoid these moments from so many memes with Killer-bishop, when you simply didn't notice your opponent's long-range piece. I'm sure that at your rating you can beat almost any player by just not hanging your pieces
