It is my contention that Fischer's 1st so-called "mentors" did him a great deal of harm and are deserving of the blame for the tragedy that befell Bobby. They were only interested in riding Fischer's chess skills to their own fame and glory.
Any true mentor would taken him out of the public's eye until he learned to adjust to society. In this case would have meant years. Would have been a nearly impossible project in Fischer case, but it was the only hope.

Why do you wanna know when a guy lost his virginity ?
some are interested in his personal life, because we saw in the end that his mental and emotional state of being hurt him from continuing his career.
oh... he continued alright on his own terms. Just not as a professional. Being a WC always scared him, too many expectations thay were not Bobby. It was only about the vinyl. He continued to play as much as ever, just not in the public eye. You need to understand a fixated personality. As said previously, he had no interest in money, politics or girls. Only the vinyl. His paranoia was not political. Just so happened the Russians were contesting him over the board. He would have ranted about anyone. He was actually a scared boy, very typical of young savants who never receive the benifits of guidance. Very unfortunate. The sky was the limit.
