I've spent so much effort in the past few months trying to get to 1400 that now that I've reached that mark my interest in the game has deflated. Sure, i could try and carry on improving, but is there much point seeing as I'm never going to be a professional chess player?.

When I got to 1400, I tanked to below 1300. Then I started the "Woodpecker Method". Within 1 week and about 14 hours worth of practice, I reached the 1500s in blitz. Highly recommend you do the book or do the Chessable course.

Also, study your openings. You play the Scotch game and you play into a Fried-Liver as Black yet you lose most of the time. Go on Lichess and find good continuations for your openings. I like using books to study my openings and create study out of them. Here is my French Study which I would also suggest you try different openings out and analyze them. I do it on Lichess because its free.
