Bot Difficulty Increased?

Looking for a sanity check here.  I've been playing against bots as part of my daily practice, and up until this month (June 2026), I was reliably beating the 1600 bots.  As of today, I am suddenly struggling against this month's 1375 bot and the 1500 bots.  Am I just mentally out of it and making silly mistakes? Or does it seem like the bots are more challenging to anyone else?

Raphael - I appreciate the response, but I am struggling to believe that. I've never had the 1400 bots play this consistently in the end game. I understand that I blundered, but the bots at this level normally make a blunder or 2 in the end game that would allow me to win. I just feel like the lower level bots are no longer allowing me to make a comeback and completely take advantage of the blunder (similar to the 1800+ bots). Either way, I know I need to work on my middle game.

I just checked other chess bots which are not on this website. I beat them the same as before. Here, almost every bot I was easily beating before, now I'm struggling against them.

I'm experiencing the same and wondering if I was going mad. Bots I used to beat for fun are suddenly difficult.

Same here. I just spent an hour losing to Wendy. Last week my average game review rating was in the 1600's. I am now regularly playing under 1000. Something has changed.
