I have always wondered why Smyslov was not granted a rematch as an Ex World Champion ? I suppose I have the same question about Tal. Smyslov had to win two Candidates Tournaments to secure his place in Championship matches and Botvinnik was able to secure re matches without having to go through Candidates tournaments . Seems grossly unfair to me.
