When I got to 1800 I was mostly playing according to general principles. In order to break 1800 I had to start really analyzing concrete variations instead of just playing moves that looked good based on general principles alone.
breaking thru 1800 seems so hard need help

wow same case as me then I think if theres one thing I know about my play its that I usually play a move based off the principles of it but I also do the move with a fair amount of calculation already if I had to guess I 'd say my play is based off (9% experiance, 42% calculation,49% intuition)
I crossed 1800 once (1835 then) and im currently at 1786 and it just seems really difficult to progress. The only time it was this hard to move into another rating bracket was when I was rated between 1050s-1100s and doing what I did then isnt working out the same way now. Could somoen whos use to be stuck in the 1700s give me some advice of how they got out of this raitng ?
