Update on this.
For black against 1.d4, I have found the Old Benoni. Apparently, the word Benoni is Hebrew, "Ben Oni", and it can be found in the Bible in Genesis 35:18. I am going with the Old Benoni because black controls the line.
The Hippopotamus System, unfortunately, is structurally unsound. Stockfish playing against itself cannot draw, which means black is always at a disadvantage. Pity because a hippopotamus is "behemoth", a biblical metaphor.
So, now:
Bishop's Opening
Caro-Kann Defence, Apocalypse Attack
Sicilian Defence, Moscow Variation
French Defence, Burn Variation
St George Defence
Old Benoni Defence
I am trying to build a new complete opening repertoire for online blitz, using only Christian sounding lines, just for the fun of it.
When playing white:
Bishop's Opening
1.e4 e5 2.Bc4
Caro-Kann, Apocalypse Attack
1.e4 c6 2.Nf3 d5 3.exd5 cxd5 4.Ne5
Sicilian Defence, Moscow Variation
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.Bb5+
French Defence, Burn Variation
1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5
Problem with the French is that after 4... Bb4 it is no longer the Burn but the MacCutcheon, and so the opening is no longer Christian sounding.
Against the Scandinavian and the Pirc, I can't find a fitting variation.
Against Alekhine's and Nimzowitsch, I can try to transpose to the Bishop's Opening.
When playing black:
Against 1.e4 ...
St George Defence
1.e4 a6
At first, I was thinking 1.e4 e5, and then if the Ruy Lopez, there's the Archangel (or Arkhangelsk) and the Neo-Archangel. But after the Italian Game or Giuoco Piano, there's nothing. Not to mention the two King's Gambits, the Center Game, Vienna, and so on. So, I have settled on St George.
Against 1.d4, and for that matter everything else, still haven't settled on anything.
Suggestions?
