Bullet 1 0 why some days less time?

Played today at my usual speed but my time was running out after about 40 moves, some days can bash out Sixty or Seventy. Is it a lag thing? ICC has a time stamp that compensates for any lag but on here it seems connection is everything, or am I just having a slow brain day?
