I've not played bullet chess for 2 months and 2 weeks now and it really feels like I've overcome an addiction. Does anyone else feel this way like bullet is an addictive version that deskills the game we play? the intensity as the flag nears is unbelievable, the discovered attacks that don't work in daily, the sacrifice of pieces to gain a valuable time advantage. I was quite happy with the level I got to with bullet but it always felt very addictive to me and I'm glad I'm over it now.

what about people addicted to gambling or pornography then? don't have to be drink or drugs to ruin people. some people have addictive personality with need for quick rush, instant gratification... so there must be some bullet addicts. sorry to get political... but this is what we got here in UK, people like the OP playing the blame game, playing the victim and expecting responsible citizen to clean up their mess...

please clean up my mess.

Maybe I dont fully understand what addictive means. But I dont think bullet chess is anything like a drug or addictive. It's a variation of the game of chess, so I dont think it's reasonable to call it like a drug. I dont like bullet chess because it's very different than real chess. I'm terrible at it because it's more about speed and luck and less about thinking and strategy and skill.

Pleas stop spreading misinformation. Winning in bullet is not "luck".

do you only play bullet? you seem very defensive about the game.

Bullet is so triggering, if you aren’t used to fast time controls and aren’t an experienced player, it’s pointless.

Bughouse is addicting though

Do you only respond to my posts with insults like calling me defensive and alleging I am cheating? Let her(?) answer the question! If you really wanted to know the answer you could read my profile.

I haven't insulted you once. Being someone who defends bullet isn't an insult. I never alleged you cheated. Did you allege that I use computer assistance? I've seen your profile now, it all makes sense.

Bullet

I've played hundreds, if not thousands of games of bullet. it's incredibly enjoyable and as I said in my OP, pretty addictive. Improve your understanding.

You called me defensive and alluded earlier that my name is similar to "Buff cheats". To top it off now, I'm learning you're a fan of Steampunk or maybe the roaring twenties, because otherwise there is no explanation for all this GASLIGHTING.

Again, being defensive isn't an insult. You have defended the game when I pointed out you could win it with less skill. If you are insulted by your actions there isn't a lot I can do about it. That wasn't an allusion, your name is similar to that. I am not a fan of steam punk, roaring twenties, nor gaslighting. I am merely someone who said the bullet game is addictive.

it's amazing, but very addictive I find.

To the OP: good decision to stop playing bullet. Highly addictive, and a lot of people are not able to stop it. I think bullet is one of the main reasons why some very talented GMs are not improving in the game.

I'm not listening to anyone love, I'm typing responses to posts I've seen on here. I forced myself to play the bullet games, do you not enjoy them? you seem to have played a lot so I would say you do. Why the obsession with politics? No, Frank is a legend. He's done more for the sport of boxing than your horse has.

I think Classical is the reason why some very talented GMs are not improving chess, THE game. Instead just focusing on computer memorization because of not wanting to rock the applecart and politics. Sad!

What politics is involved?

oh, i didn't realise were Frank sorry, used to be bit of a fan of his, dodgy chin though... why Frank and not Lennox though? any objective verdict would say Lennox were better...

Lewis was a whole lot greater than Bruno, but he never captured the nation's heart the way Frank did.

fair point, Frank was clearly winning their bout but couldn't quite finish him. Lennox seemed to... annoy a lot of people... i don't follow boxing so much these days though.

Bullet is like a drug because it accelerates your brain, makes you sweat under your pits and makes music sound amazing. It also gets you hooked, I've played bullet for 12 hours straight before, on a bad weather day when I was alone. And your brain is so revved up, you look at the clock and it's like it's not moving.
I've reached 1700+ on Bullet and am now leaving it alone for a while. It's the shortest timeframe, but it makes you waste the most time for sure, because there's always a little gap in the day when you can fit a game or fifteen.

I think bullet should always be played on a phone, better if a medium size phone, not too big, not too small. So you can tap with your two thumbs for a move. Your level would be even higher if you did.
