Can a human make a draw again houdini?

i dont think so

Depends on time control. In correspondance it might even be Houdini struggling for a draw

EDIT: If you play white, you can maybe trap it in a variation where the best move for black is to repeat. Or offer a draw when it comes out of theory, if it evaluates it for 0,01, and a 0,00 (draw) is obviously a better option, which it will take

psuperpepe

maybe , but with the opening book and the tablebase is almost imposible to do that

A draw, for sure…even win one game in a match

Kasparov once spoke about this topic; he said that nowadays the challenge for humans is to show that in our best days we can win ONE game.

Unfortunately, no one wants to test this :) Even Magnus Carlsen said he finds playing against computers boring

Who knows...maybe he's afraid of suffering a crushing defeat, as it

happened to Mickey Adams vs Hydra in 2005

At classical time control, we are inferior, but I think we are still superior at correspondance. Have you ever seen a computer play? They play horrible, they just don't make mistakes

psuperpepe

i played with houdini, stockfish, komodo, frizt ect so if someone knows about engines is me

psuperpepe

it is true in some position computers aparently are wrong but later you know that you are wrong

psuperpepe

Houdini for sure for me is the best but stockfish is free and very good too

I recently read that Magnus Carlsen played against a couple of gms, and the whole country of Norway. Or who ever wanted to participate I suppose. They were allowed to consult houdini. It ended in a draw. you can find it on youtube

yes but only three consultings moves per gm and magnus make a draw in a better position when he felt the presure of the engine

Thank you, psuperpepe!  Well, it seems that we have to buy a WinRar license anyway!

Huh? Can't you use freeware like 7-Zip or PeaZip?
