You could design top-quality chess sets and sell them for extortionate prices.
Oh, you want to PLAY chess for this money?
No. Hur hur.

When my Grandson looks up at me and tells me, "Grandpa, you're the best chess player ever," I consider myself rich.
I don't know about this "rich" thing. I will say this, though:
Opulence is intrinsic in a "good game" of chess.
(Maybe I should run for a political office. Not!!!)
One can only guess at what "rich" means to the OP.
To me, though, owning one of these babies...and the cost is only "pocket change" -- now, I'd call that "rich".

If you are realy good at chess but not Champion level you could always write chess books and do other things related to chess
It is very difficult to make a living out of any sport (if you are not among the top 50) which does not involve gambling.
In chess even if you are a GM and make many great DVDS you still cant make enough money due to piracy.
It depends on how lucky and gifted you are.
Say if I become really good at chess and even better than kasparov and Anand, win tournament and championship and such, will I become a millionaire?
Dude, you're over thirty and you're not good at chess. There's more chance of you teleporting to Saturn than making a living at chess, no matter what effort you put in.
heck, didn't Anand become number 1 on his 37th birday? I mean 7 years is a lot of time and if all I do is learn chess and keep practicing, you don't think it's possible?
You should give me a call. I have a bridge you want to buy.
its not true that lso everyone is trying to become a billioner most people just have jobs wich pay a certain aomunt
the number of chess players could realisticly be much higher then the number of capitalists
to make bilions you need some capital, but to play chess all you need is a chessboard
but still its harder to become a 2600 plus chess player then becoming a bilioner even if you had all the support and requiremtns to bevome a billioner
