And it is true, Harvey's usage of  the word "rationalize" is correct, at least as far as the English lexicon is concerned.

That was quite obvious, even before he felt obligated to post the definition, sorry. Cry

That's not always true!

kasparov67800
I have 145 elo qi i started chess since then years. I am a good player but never become a master. All Genius chess started very early
TheBlunderfulPlayer

There are masters who didn't start chess at a young age.

kasparov67800
As Kasparov or Bobby Fisher , Thal, magnus , anand ,............all Man learn chess younger
kasparov67800
Yes you have right some people started chess latter and become master but it's it's very uncommon

You both have a point. Probably all world-class players (let's say top 100) started chess way before they were let's say 10 years old.

Young children learn things soooooo much faster.

I never saw a chessboard before the age of 17. So i was &%#*$@^.

kasparov67800
there are players who manage to become master while they played much later. But it's part of life's exceptions is the beauty of life, but it's very rare
TheBlunderfulPlayer

Yes, you're right. It's easier to become a titled player when you learn chess at a young age.

Harvey_Wallbanger

Good rationalization as to why you suck at chess.

Nipperick

I am 55 and just starting to play so I guess I am screwed.....Lol

Now a word from an old friend...

Sucking at chess is a sign of having a life.
