Can You Drop to a Rating of Zero?

I wonder how many players here are rated 100? It would be interesting to watch a game between two players of that rating.
Is it possible, or has it ever happened, that a player has dropped to a rating of zero? And if that happens and the player still continues to lose, does the player fall into a zone of negative points or just stay at zero?
