Can you have a negative rating?

Maybe. I have played games and have seen the rating games from Infinity to Negative Infinity. You can’t get your rating down or up that far. The limit for negative should be -2500, while the limit for positives should be grandmaster level (also 2500).

No, lowest is 100. The rating range is relatively to your current rating and infinity mean anything below/above.

The math allows it, but admins usually set a floor. Chess.com's floor is 100.

2500 FIDE is the minimum GM level, so it makes no sense for it to be the maximum rating.

However, the highest at least should be 3250, that is ABOVE maximum 💻 level. Also in the first sentence I meant a range, not a game.
