can't beat drills!
my advice is don't practice against a computer but rather play human opponents. to get better do tactics trainer sorted by theme. if you want to do that on this site you need paid member ship.
Thanks man! So keep hitting up up tactics? I have been getting better at them, I just wanna beat that computer so bad , I've gotten close but it pulls out with magic
the problem with playing the computer is it doesn't help you play against humans. generally it seems it always notices if you blunder but never blunders itself accept for at lower levels where it seems to play perfect then will suddenly drop a piece and yet in other games it never drops a piece . secondly the best way to improve for a beginner is tactics but tactics never work against a computer. doing any tactics is good but even better to make sure you identify the tags each time and recognise the tactic. for example I was missing X ray attacks a lot so I just did x-ray attack problems for a few days in a row so I could identify the theme. that way you remember it.
just an additional I see you mean playing drills not play ing against computer opponent. drills are good also so worth doing
I agree, love drills.its just the level 10 comp occasionally makes me wanna throw my laptop from a roof lol! yea I have to admit I bleed a lot of lessons and tactics from chess.com to my bros at my cc.
I'm also struggling with the drills. A two point advantage against a digital GM doesn't really help me. I wish I could use the drills to train against lower (~1200) players.
I posted this in another thread, but thought it might be helpful here too.
There is a work around. It's clumsy, but you can copy the PGN from the drill to your clipboard, then go to the "Analysis" (which is two buttons below the "drills" button). Once there, you can paste the PGN, and select the option to "finish vs. computer", where you can select the computer difficulty.
