I want Nakamura to win but know Carlsen has it locked.

Well I definitely know that the [insert name player who is in form during those weeks] is very likely to win, even though [insert name player who is currently world #1] is probably going to be everyone' s favorite.

Though I wouldn't rule out [insert name of player whom you prefer over the other two above inserted players], as he's definitely shown [insert his recent results that conveniently serve as rationale for you prefering him over the above two] that he's quite capable of winning it.

I want Nakamura to win he's fat and he's Asian!

Going by the minor changes that will occur on the January rating list the average rating of the tournament will be 2801, that is it will be the first Category 23 event ever. A pity though that it's just a single round robin classical followed by a single round robin rapid chess with some strange scoring system to combine the two parts.

the classical is to ensure that good players have a good chance, and the rapid is to please the crowds and spectators!

I'm not sure what crowds or spectators want to see rapids.  Its just a waste of time and a possible corruption of the tournament result.

The day would be much better spent if they had one more round of classical chess.   They could have the top finishers player eachother and if there is a tie at the end, the tiebreak would go to whover played the last game at a higher board.
