From the beginning of the opening Carlsen showed aggression and got lead in development that finally forced Georg Meier to gave up a pawn but in return he got his Queen on h6 with s strong threat of Ng5 followed by mate on h7. This forced Magnus Carlsen to give up the exchange but in return he got knight and two pawn and Black emerged with winning position. Knight and three pawns against Rook so material advantage was decisive and Carlsen went on win in few more moves.
