Fischer - Petrosian (1970) 1-0.
#52 Petrosian would lose his knight (39....Ne4) to avoid mate like below:
Carlsen would not have had any chance with Fischer on Caro - Kann. Fischer - Carlsen 1-0, Caro - Kann.
I think Carlsen has the edge.
I agree, although I wish it were not so. I hate to see kids beat up on old men.
@Ziryab: Always enjoy your posts ... is the "old" man doing better than you predicted? :)
Not yet. It is early. Carlsen will gain energy as they play long games; Anand's energy will diminish. I retain hopes for Anand, but I expect the rapid tie-breaks will lead to Carlsen's victory.
I want Carlsen to win in 2016, and not this time. I never expected a blow-out, but I think that Carlsen will win. His lack of match experience may be telling, but he is as Paul Morphy was in the First American Chess Congress--capable of growing stronger with each game.
As the match progresses I actually think Anand might have a even chance as Carlsen. Will probably be very tense match.
Well it seems that this one is for Carlsen. I have no favorite myself. I just enjoy the matches.
Neither. They keep forcing draws. It's about as interesting as watching paint dry at this point.
Wow. Carlsen is up 4-2. Its over. Unless of course, Anand starts performing 3000!
