I think it would be a big help if one of them hire Borislav Ivanov as a 2nd to help prepare. It might give them an advantage in prep.
Carlsen vs Anand

Carlsen for sure. I mean he showed Anand who's boss at the Tal Memorial. Anand is an amazing chess player, but I think will still lose to Carlsen. No offence to Anand fans but that is my opinion
Carlsen's on his way to becoming Fischer, IMO. I mean, just look at his games, they are amazing. Beating top-level GMs with unorthodox openings is just beast.
Kramnik in an interview this year said that Carlsen is overrated. And Carlsen's response OTB at TM2013 was pretty much a slap to the face, I suppose.

He'll eventually pass 2900 IF these things happen: He will turn 23 just after the WC, on Nov 30. So he's still improving I have to believe. The question is will there be enough players that reach 2800+ & how many of those can aproach 2850? Because a rating will be based on a win % vs average opponents rating. Just winning tournament after tournament & match after match won't be enough to pass 2900 if there arent enough players closer to his rating than they are now
Well, I don't think it matters if he passes the 2900 mark or not. What matters is that he is bulldozing all opposition at the moment. Let's see how long this can last. I'm putting my money on him becoming the next Fischer or K.

Carlsen will win.Anand is no pushover though and will surely put up a tough fight.Atleast,I hope he does.

I agree. I believe Magnus will be one of the best in history, if not the best, IF he doesn't lose interest in getting better. If he wins the world title (I think he will, if not this time maybe next cycle or after that) what else is there to prove? He's already doing fine financially. He averages about 1.5 per year & he's not even world champion yet. I'm sure it's been invested well, I believe his father had some comment about his financial security. So money won't really be a motivator. He's got the highest rating so getting the WC title is really all that's left. Who knows how much better he can get? I think a LOT of fischers quitting chess had to do with "well, I now have the world title, what else is there really?" . Carlsen as opposed to Fischer will have earned a LOT of money along with having won the title. So who knows if he'll take chess as serious after winning the title?

I agree.... I really think Magnus will get bored with chess.
I really hope not. There are eras in chess, if you take a quick look at history: the Botvinnik era, the Fischer era, the Karpov era, and the Kasparov era. I hope he becomes the next Kasparov or something, dominating chess for a good 20 years then retiring at the top of his game.

Carlsens got 1 more event before the match with Anand. It will be his first tournament here in the U.S. But don't read ANYTHING into the result because it's only 6 games AND he's not showing ANYTHING to ANYBODY about his likely openings or any prep. That event will be to just compete in something a month before the match. It doesn't matter if he finishes last. I dont think he will but even if he does........
I'll start the ball rolling. I'm hoping for Carlsen to win, and I think his chances are very high.
