So would actually be a very interesting candidate.

Do you mean the list from the last candidates tournament or the next candidates tournament?

The 2014 candidates tournament was Anand, Kramnik, Andreikin, Topalov, Mamedyarov, Aronian, Karjakin, and Svidler.

We don't know who will play in the 2016 candidates tournament yet. We only know Anand will qualify as the loser from the previous WCC match against Carlsen.

I really hope it's Nakamura.

Anand seems quite likely...Kramnik also.

Kramnik will have a hard time. His only realistic chance to qualify for the candidates tournament is to make the finals of the World Cup which is a crap shoot (128 players, single elimination). He would need to raise his rating well above 2800 to bring his average rating high enough to qualify by rating, and he is not playing in the Grand Prix.

Carlsen's score against Nakamura:

+11−0=16

I hope It'll be someone more unpleasant for the Champion.

True, but a WC match would surely spice up the old rivalry between those two, and that always makes things interesting.

It does indeed! But Carlsen needs rival similar in strength (Kasparov-Karpov).

Obviously the 2016. I know that it's not available yet, I just said that it would be interesting to know who will play.

I thought it would be Caruana, but Anand played so well in Shamkir, he was second. Anand also drew with Carlsen and didn't lose one game; the last round Vishy drew easily against Caruana. Anand will play Carlsen again, he is really incredible.

Even if Carlsen crushes Nakamura, each game will be an interesting fight.

Thank you for the information.

Nakamura probably won't play exciting or tactical in a classic match- I don't think it'd be that interesting. As people has said, his record is terrible to MC.

It seems like the Shirov - Kasparov thing to me. Carlsen just has Naka's number right now.

Karjakin

@TitanCG

Good analogy. Shirov never won a single game.

In my opinion, Caruana is the only real bet to even try adn take the crown from Magnus.

Nakamura is not a classic player

Anand defeats in standardctimes control.

And also he has lost couple of games against both.

So sorry USA

Your best player was Fischer

Nakamura is just illusion..
