I really enjoyed Lawrence Trent, and Jan Gustafsson doing the Candidates.
Tania Sachdev and Susan Polgar were also great during the final last year.
Ginger GM and Irina Krush were great together covering the Gibraltar Cup.
Any combo of those would be great.
Since the upcoming rematch of Anand vs. Carlsen in Las Vegas is getting tons of buzz on the internet, it will surely be the most anticpating single competition sporting event since "The Rumble in the Jungle" in 1974.
It's never too early to start casting for an announcing team for this match. I say due to the high interest in the match, the powers that be go to a four man booth. One play by play man/analyst and three color commentators.
The best choices are clear already. Four men with substantial chess commentary and broadcasting experience...the only men qualified to broadcast an event of such magnitude.
My choices for the broadcast team would be Lawrence Trent doing play-by-play/analysis, backed up by
1) Jay Love
2) Backyard Professor
3) Dennis Miller
Talk about putting some real excitement back into chess, eh!
