I had a post deleted about the amount of cheating with new accounts and I received this reply.

The perception of cheating levels is orders of magnitude more than the actual amount. The vast majority of games and players are clean

The site closed more than 100,000 accounts in January for fair play violations and has a full team of staff working on reports along with some automated systems for detection.

That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. If you want to discuss join the following club https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum

I won't repeat what I said as I would like to start a subject on censorship and not on new accounts cheating.

Why do you think Chess.com shuts down these conversions and move them to a less visible group? Hiding an issue or something else?

  • To maintain the quality of our regular forums and avoid unnecessary anxiety, we have created a special group forum for discussions about cheating in online chess. We kindly ask you to restrict your comments on this subject to that group forum.

Of course they'll never admit this, but it's a big problem they clearly want to limit visibility of. Notice how they never address the concerns, only brag about how many accounts they ban for fair play violations (which is a meaningless statistic on its own) before locking the thread so nobody can discuss further.

There are a lot of posts and articles by staff about the issue. There's also a place where it's allowed to discuss.
