Cheating

People keep telling me I am cheating when they keep blundering a winning position. Are they nuts? I never cheat in chess in my whole [removed -- MS] life. I just watch tal games and keep doing nonsense sacrifice (not accurate just to intimidate ) and then they go to your profile and tell you cheaters or message you that you are sore loser. SMH.

It depends on whether you are guilty or not. If you are, there's nothing we can do. But if you aren't, which most of us should believe, then you can report the users accordingly using the Report feature.

In many circumstances in the past (while I was still active playing on this site), a small minority of my opponents did something similar, and I reported them (I didn't need to send any proof even though I saved them post-game). While not every user gets warned, I was still notified by Chess.com about "actions" taken against a number of them. It's more likely their account (rather than yours) will get restricted.

That's not (conclusive) proof. You may have been a witness to the messages, but taking even a screenshot is hard to verify. Pictures can be photoshopped. If you merely copied the text then that can be more easily modified.

I doubt that players will need to submit proofs anyway (there is no "uploading of files" feature during reporting) so I just submit a report accordingly and let nature take its course.

I'm sure I have also been reported many times before, as does most players on this site.

take it as a compliment.  nothing to worry about at all if you are not cheating.  You should be happy about it man,  the perception is everyone cheats online so most likely its who smealt it dealt it.   They use that to justify their own dishonorable actions.   I would think it unsurprising especially if youre account is brand new but you have a real old account.  Another thing to be proud of.

Its best to not even make threads like this,  makes you are look worried and overly defensive.  I love it when someone calls me a cheater.   Makes me feel good.  Because I know i never cheated in an online video game in my life in any way shape or form,  and it all it means I was really played well against my opponent.

Just because you dont cheat it does not mean others wont. So many people in the 1000 elo and under who player at 40 centipawn or less. They all reply the same to the same openings and defenses, you'd wonder why they are so low. Then the other day I decided to play a few matches against the Komodo engine right here at highest level and guess what? The engine played the same moves I see in every game, like for like, for the first 10-12 moves.

This may be not suspicious in a slightly higher elo but it's hilarious at 1000 elo. I play Daily chess in gameknot.com at around 1700-1800 level, and, according to my stockfish engine analysis at around 30 depth per position, these players play as accurate as 1900-2000 elo daily chess players who frequently consult databases ...

... dont you think it's sus? Just played a 900 who crushed me and played at 11 centipawn loss for 19 moves. Why is someone so strong 900 elo in chess.com?

Like 99% of people at your elo are actually playing normal. If someone who was a 2000 made an alt, they would have gone past your rating range in like 10 games(unless they are sandbaggers). I don’t think people make like 5 alt accounts just to play beginners over and over.

Report suspicious players and if people accuse you can also report.

Thanks
