I don't think threads get locked very often anymore, we have had some very "lockable" threads recently that have lasted a couple days. The chess staff is probably very over worked by the general discussions forum. I wouldn't be superseded if they had an intern who's sole work day was spent on cleaning it up

So they are slacking off a little, they sure jumped on 'my oponnent is a idiot' thread...that was here for like 2 hrs and got over 100 posts
