Cheating by creatting an abandoned game

This is the third time I have experienced this.

My opponent takes a very long time to play.  Suddenly the game is ended with the message,"game abandoned."  I was the last one to move; but I am docked 8 points.

I think I have figured it out.  The person playing knows exactly how many sections to wait and makes a move in the last second. Their move is recorded at the same instance that the game is declared abandoned.  Anyone else experience this?  Any solutions?

There is no cheat. You got disconnected from the Live server, and your opponent can't impact your connection.

Don't worry about losing points. Your rating will reflect your ability. If your rating is artificially dropped low by having a bad connection, then as soon as you fix the issue with your connection you will likely have many wins until your rating is back to where it should be based on your knowledge and execution of chess principles.
