Hi guys.I am relatively new here.My question is about cheating..is it used on chess.com cuz its not fair?there are dozens of softwares in which you can play as the computer thus making the best moves and so you can win most of the time(if your opponents are not cheating like you)..tournaments ,important games are won for what?ratings?..have a good day

interesting comment, playing as the computer , my beef was with this system itself , in the drag of the mouse, or eating up time ,interrupting play when it's your move & otherwise you're in an invincible position.....e.t.c.

not sure. I think engines can analyze games and tell if the moves were human moves or computer moves, and it depends on how often they are played. Im not quite sure how it all works, just remember you are being watched 0.0

if you are suspicious, check the players win/loss/draw percentages. anyone who wins 90% of their games is suspect in my view! no one wins all their games! also look at their ratings graphs. if you suspect a someone of cheating, don't accuse them directly, report it - admin can analyse it, and deal with them.

I just participated in a tournament that I am proud of myself. In my first game I played with the highest ranking player and with a solid performance I manage to win the game. The following two games was easier and I was the top player with 3/3 wins! Then I noticed that the player with the lowest ranking had also 3/3 and I felt like "ok, here we go again..". Next game I was playing with him in a first-place match. He was making comments like "you look like a tough enemy" and such and constantly making a move every 10-15 seconds.. Of course that doesn't mean he was cheating, but only in the thought that he was cheating I was feeling like playing a desperate game.. For thirty-something moves I played a good game. Material-equal but he got better position. Finally I made a blunder and it was game over. Now, I am not saying that this guy was cheating but only in the thought that he was, I didn't play as well... And if he were? He may be caught in the end but that won't change the final rankings. There was no way they could catch him cheating on the spot, so for me it was a lost game from the beginning... That's why I am stop playing tournaments.. It doesn't make sense because cheating is the same as suspicious for cheating to me

PS. OK, I am a bit bitter for not winning my first tournament after playing totally concentrated for two and a half hours! :-P I am pleased with my performance, but that won’t change the way I see live chess tournaments

PS2. OK, I just looked at that guys profile. Tactic trainer 800+. Cheater... If anyone want that guys name for a quick checking pm me. I am not gonna make this personal by complain any more. Cheating is a problem for chess.com managers to solve
