This book is now in algebraic notation!  Yay! and Updated.

It seems that I have been procrastinating purchasing this book for a long time, with algebraic notation. I tried Barnes and Noble but they didn't have it. They offered to order it for me.

So that evening I logged on Amazon and they offer to download a sample. That took about 15 second and it went right into my KINDLE FIRE.

I had received my Kindle Fire as a Christmas present and finally it has more purpose for me. I took a look at the sample and the notations was acceptable, so I bought it.

It took about about a minute and the whole book was there. The KINDLE E version with the algebraic notation was created December 2012, it downloads for $14,99.

The Amazon e-book is in Algebraic notation which we are now most familiar with. At other sources, free downloads are in descriptive notation and it is sometimes confusing.

One looks like a pirated copy in pdf. format. The other one I was not able to look at.

In the back of the book the openings are listed with the page numbers. Sicillian has the most and Ruy Lopez is second.

I have made a decision that I will keep a chess set next to me when I read and play the book. I am pleased with my purchase.

The newest version is algebraic notation came out December 2012. Do not get the old descriptive notation.

I got the book in Algebraic notation at a recent FIDE tourny i played for Rs250(4.5$).It's a used one but in perfect condition and  the book is pretty fun too.

I figured out a plan how I will begin the book so I will learn from it.

I will start with the WHITE openings that FISCHER used E4 most. At the same time I will go with the Sicillian that he played as BLACK.

I will go back and forth so I won't get bored. That will give me enough to work on for a while. I will be using a board and pieces not just in my head.

There is a big controversy about this book. The original descriptive book which is available freely on the internet contains Fischer's original comments. The algebraic version was "corrected" by the publisher and Fischer claimed the "corrections" modified his original comments without his-Fischer's-authorization. The descriptive book is the one that Fischer, himself, supported. Not the algebraic.

I found three errors in the first game, which isn't big except that you have to turn back several moves back to see the position if your aren't using board and pieces.

So I thought I would let the publisher know. This is the e-mail I sent.

I purchased the E-book  "My 60 memorable games." by Fischer.  I found three errors in the E-book in the first game. 

In the first game: The third diagram, is the same as the second. Then the fourth is the one that should be third, and the fifth is the one that should be fourth.

The final one in that game should be a unique one for the final diagram.

It is such a shame that all the future E-books sold will have the same error. If It was my book I would correct it.

Since those E-books aren't sold yet, why not correct it since it's all on a computer and it is easy to do.

I haven't checked the hard copy to see if the error is in that book.

If this information isn't supposed to go to you, please send it to the proper person who could care.

I am one that has posted information about this E-book on Chess.com and they have almost 7 million subscribers.

That is the audience for this book.

Please let me know, if and when it is corrected. Maybe I can get one that is correct.

Found some of Fischer books on E-bay. Priced from $14.00 to a couple of hundred. Some First edition and with different covers. Here are some:

Seems like there is a controversy as to the comentary that Fischer's gamess have.

Amazon says that "The Game of the Century" is in the book they sell, but it is not so. It isn't in the e-book either. They will give a refund if you ask for it. They promised to have the advertiment fixed.

Well here are some fact about Bobbie Fischer:

Robert James "Bobby" Fischer born, March 9, 1943, passed away, January 17, 2008. He was an AmericanchessGrandmaster and the 11th World Chess Champion. He is widely considered one of the greatest chess players of all time. Fischer was also a best-selling chess author.

Widely considered a "chess legend",at age 13 Fischer won a “brilliancy” that became known as The Game of the Century. Starting at age 14, he played in eight United States Championships, winning each by at least a point. He won the 1963–64 U.S. Championship 11–0, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. According to research by Jeff Sonas, in 1971 Fischer had separated himself from the rest of the world by a larger margin of playing skill than any player since the 1870s.

In 1972, he captured the World Championship from Boris Spassky of the USSR in a match held in Reykjavík, Iceland, that was widely publicized as a Cold War confrontation. The match attracted more worldwide interest than any chess match before or since. In 1975, Fischer declined to defend his title when he could not come to agreement with FIDE over the conditions for the match. He became more reclusive and did not play competitive chess again until 1992, when he won an unofficial rematch against Spassky. The competition was held in Yugoslavia, which was then under a United Nations embargo. This led to a conflict with the U.S. government, which was also seeking income tax from Fischer on his match winnings, and Fischer never returned to his native country.

In his later years, Fischer lived in Hungary, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, and Iceland. During this time he made increasingly anti-American and antisemitic statements, despite his Jewish ancestry.

After his U.S.A. passport was revoked over the Yugoslavia sanctions issue, he was detained by Japanese authorities for nine months in 2004 and 2005 under threat of deportation. In February 2005, Iceland granted him right of residence as a "stateless" alien and issued him a passport. When Japan refused to release him on that basis, Iceland's parliament voted in March 2005 to give him full citizenship. The Japanese authorities then released him to Iceland, where he lived until his death in 2008.
