FIDE recently published an article saying that by 2025 Fischer random will replace classical chess. What are your opinions om that?

Replace? I don't think so. Classical chess is too much a part of the fabric of chess. But I do think Fischer random is a fun and refreshing alternative to classical. They can and should exist side by side.

FIDE said classical games won't be rated 😭

I think you're maybe confused: that there will be a separate rating for 960. This seems plausible with the popularity of top-level 960 growing at the moment. But I've never seen it suggested the convention chess Elo be retired.

I see the source of this is an article dated April 1st. Hmm.....

Also, in the April fools article, they went with Frederic Friedel's proposal of doing one 960 position each year. This isn't really chess960, it's something else and will feel completely different due to the presence of preparation.

Oh wait, no, it's 10 positions. So Kasperov's suggestion.
