Good to see all of these reactions. As a matter of fact, I was on a bus just now when a woman came in carrying her baby. It was hideous. I said, "that's the ugliest baby I have ever seen! Urch!". She sat down at the back, complaining to a bold man in tweeds, "that man just insulted me". The old man, bless him, said "go tell him off, I'll hold your monkey for you".
by the way, I'm drunk. want to play chess?
Hi folks
I'm going to be visiting London on January and I'm wondering whether anyone can recommend a good chess bar or pub in which to find some matches. I have this idea of picking up a few games with fellow enthusiasts over a beer in a bar that's been a home of chess for centuries. It's an over romantic fantasy I'm sure, but if anyone has any recommendations of good spots to pick up a match, I'd appreciate hearing them.
Thanks
Steve.
