Chess Base 9 Audio problem?

Can someone help me figure out what the problem might be? Board sounds don't work, but when someone appluads or the sounds at the end of the game do work...  I made sure the box "Board Sounds" is checked... it is.  I also clicked annoucned moves for further analysis and it doesn't work either.

I didn't even know these sounds existed til i installed it on my girls laptop, and of course it works no prob there.

So far i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling program, no luck.

Could this be an audio codec issue? any ideas. thanx. 

My audio codec was out of date, but that didn't fix the issue...

Updated to K-Lite Codec 9.8.8 ,  argghhhh anyone have any thoughts?
