Heys guys,

im new to chess world. I mean, i would always play for fun, but never in tournaments or even had a coach, just something to past the time and keep my brain working when i was a kid. Now, i do want to step up my game. Really badly.

Currently inspired to play again thanks to my 10 year old little cousin, whose quite a bit of contender in his district school board (always in the top 5). Now i know it is going to be a long process, but as long as i got a solid plan laid out   to help me improve myself, and my game, I'll be alright. So to my main question:

what do you guys, reccomend to do in order for me to "up my game" and get playing again? Books, methods, im open to anything.

Thank you.

Learn atleast two three openings. Then by some middlegame stategy books such as,

1. How to Reassess your chess  :  John Nunn

2. How to reassess your chess Workbook : John Nunn

3. My system  :  Aron Nimzowitch

4. Dynamic chess strategy  : Suba, Mihai

5 Secrets of pawn endings/rook endings etc.

6. you can also buy softwares like CT-Art, chess tactics for intermediate players, Mate studies, chess endgame studies by convekta.

You also read  'Rapid chess improvement'  Michael de la Maza for the rapid improvement.

Thanks
