Hello chess buddies,
I am here asking for help, I am these days very serious about getting better into chess.

Recently someone suggested me a book called "My System by Aron Nimzowitsch: 21st Century Edition" for my level.
(I am Currently 1650-1700 rated in standard. These days I dont play/like blitz)

I seriously want to improve, so please someone tell me if it is the best book for me (worth buying) or suggest me one which could be better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

I'm reading this book and I'm really enjoying it. I'm probably a bit below your level. It's a very strategic way of playing. It's quite a tough read. I am only studying a little each day. I'm currently more of a tactical player so this is great to support my positional understanding.
I'm a big fan of this book. It has enough to take me to a much higher level. You just need to pay it respect and study diligently. If I don't improve its my fault not the book's.

One book that nobody above has suggested is The Art of the Middle Game by Paul Keres and Alexander Kotov. I mentioned it to some other player on this site and he checked but according to him, it is only still printed in the old notation (not sure on that point, my copy is certainly in the old notation, have owned it for about 30 years) but of all the Chess books I have ever read or studied, it is by far and away (in my opinion) the book that improved my chess the most.

Andy Soltis has some good books, his "the art of defence in chess" helped me to get better with the black pieces.

I think Nimzowitsch's My System is well worth reading.  He touches on so many different issues.  It's a very rich book.

Well I just now started with "My System: 21st century edition".
I hope it will help.
