Have you seen the recent ChessBoxing card? Surprised chess.com didn't post it. Botez vs Belenkaya, the matchup you heard about.

I watched the event, Andrea was unlucky she did really well and I thought may have won it but not quite. 

That was a really close call, most exiting match of the night !!

I guess being punched in the face makes it harder to find mate in one. I was biting my nails hoping the ref didn't stop the fight before the next chess round.

I saw a youtube video of men in chess boxing as well.  Isn't there something wrong with the idea of risking concussions when your main focus is using your brain for chess?

The main focus of a chessboxer should not be chess, but rather boxing. It wasn't so clear before, but man is it obvious now. I expect if the bouts continue the number of titled players will dwindle and the number of legitimate fighters will rise. Probably as the former get injured by the latter.

“Chessboxing” is a stupid marketing campaign to attract people to the boxing part, and to promote the participants. I am glad chess.com does not cover that garbage.

Yes. It makes totally sense that the usual twitch/tiktok/instagram "celebrities" don't want to miss out on the latest capitalist ploy. It is a bit surprising though that serious chess players like Hambleton, Trent and Belenkaya, who devoted their lives to the game, would risk brain injury.
