Chess Clock Help

Hi,

I am entering my first tournament next month. I just bought a chess clock since I will need it. One of the time controls is: 40/120 SD/30;d10

I have the DGT North American chess clock and I can't figure out how to program this time control in... I am beginning to wonder if it is possible on this clock. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get this in?

Thanks,

You want option 23.

You set the first time control to 2:00. If the delay is from move one, the next option is where you will enter that. The next option would be the second time control of 0:30. The next the delay. You leave the third control and delay at 0.

Hmm,I see what you mean, but what about the 40 moves? My understanding is that it is 120 mins or 40 moves (whichever comes first) and then rolls into a sudden death of 30 minutes. Am I missing something here?

Players are responsible for determining if the number of moves were correct to meet the time control. The NA tracks move numbers but will automatically roll to the next time control when the first time control runs out.

By default, most clocks should actually do that and if one of the players believes that not enough moves have been made, they have to make the claim and the scoresheets get checked , assuming the opponent disagrees.
