Hi! I’m a Chess.com 2400 player (2000+ FIDE), and I’ve been coaching chess for several years.

During that time, I’ve worked 1-on-1 with many online students, and I also run a local chess academy for kids in my hometown. Because of this, I’m comfortable working with all ages and levels — from complete beginners to advanced tournament players.

One thing my own chess journey taught me is that improvement doesn’t happen by accident.

I reached a 2000 FIDE rating in just 15 months by building and following a structured, personalized improvement system. That experience shaped the way I coach today — I don’t rely on generic lessons or random puzzles. I use practical improvement systems that are designed to produce real, measurable progress, and my goal is to pass those same methods on to my students.

Over the years, coaching has also made one thing very clear to me:

Most players don’t struggle because they lack knowledge — they struggle because of their thinking process.

They know ideas, patterns, and concepts, but they don’t apply them effectively during real games.

Because of that, a big part of my coaching philosophy is improving how you think, not just what you know.

How my coaching works

Lessons are conducted via Discord + Chess.com Classroom.

• Every lesson is prepared in advance
• Each session targets your specific weaknesses
• Before every lesson, I ask if there’s anything specific you’d like to work on
• If you’re unsure, I will choose and prepare what’s most important for your improvement

My lessons are very interactive.
I ask a lot of questions and expect detailed explanations of your thought process. The goal is to understand:

  • What you are thinking during the game

  • Where your decisions go wrong

  • How to build a stronger, more practical thinking routine

This is what helps students actually transfer knowledge into real results.

Structured Improvement System

All lessons are part of a connected training plan designed for long-term progress.

We will work on:
• Blunder reduction & calculation
• Middlegame planning & positional understanding
• Practical opening preparation (understanding > memorization)
• Endgame fundamentals
• Decision-making under time pressure
• Game analysis focused on your real mistakes

The training speed is fully flexible:

  • If you prefer a slower approach, we can focus deeply on 1–2 new concepts per lesson

  • If you prefer a faster pace, we can cover more material each session

We’ll adjust the workload and intensity based on what helps you improve most efficiently.

Rates (USD)

• $40 – Single lesson (60 minutes)
• $35/hour – 5-lesson package
• $30/hour – 10-lesson package

I also offer a short consultation to discuss your goals and see if we’re a good fit.

Many of my students have achieved clear rating improvements, and I’m happy to share results and feedback if you’re interested.
