I didn't know there was a dog but I collect stamps. Having said that, the French Colonial stamps are usually uninteresting except for some of the pictures on them.

I had no idea there was such a famous Artic Explorer dog called Togo.
I am however at the moment wearing an original 1952 BNGE North Ice watch. It was the profit off a deal I once did involving a Rolex Datejust. It's been through the wars and I just had it serviced. I have no idea if it's one of the original 25 BNGE watches. One for each member of the Expedition and none of them broke or even lost time. Temperatures down to about minus 60, apparently.
I watched a game of shinty yesterday on Alba TV. Isn't Gaelic funny? Sounds like a bunch of squish squashy chachenchappies eating a very gooey dessert down at the Gay Sassenach. Anyway, I took a virtual tour round the area, around Peterson Park and Yoker Road in West Glasgow, starting at a house that was for sale on Mill Lane. Scottish architecture is so different from English. Made me quite miss being there.
Glasgow is not civilised.🤮
I've been there very briefly about three times. More used to Fife and the bits of Scotland just over the border from Carlisle, where one of my grandmas was from. Annan, I believe.
Haha I liked the chippy in Leuchars that's for sure and watched Karaoke in the pub nearby. Christine & I could have fancied living in Cupar.
That's where my son lived in the first two years of his PhD. There's a castle there and he and two others were in the gatehouse, which was pretty big. Used to go and stay when we could. Then his g/f moved there from Newcastle because she was a very junior doctor and they had a nice bungalow right on the very northern edge of St Andrews for two years. Used to go to the beach to the North, which was walkable from that castle. Can't remember what it was called. Owned by a dutchman but its grounds were right up against the RAF base so we could sit in a tree and watch the planes from very close, which I quite enjoyed because I used to be in the RAFVR in the early 70s, in a university Air Squadron learning to fly. Hardly ever crashed once!
This is the castle. I'm sure when it went up for sale about 5 years ago it was £4 million, not 8. Must be inflation, unless it was bought by someone. Ever flipped a castle?

Are you leaving because of bullies?
Bullying? Think you're so cool? The girl you just called fat? She's on a diet. The girl you just called ugly? She spent hours putting on makeup hoping people will like her. The boy you tripped? He is abused at home. See the man with ugly scars? He fought for our country. The guy you made fun of for crying? His mother is dying. Everyone is good looking just the way you are in any race, religion, or culture. Don't let anyone get you down for that mess. Bullying is breaking the law, just don't bully! I may be young, but I can change the world. We all can. Please like this post and say it to everyone if you are against bullying.

the highlighted part is outdated, and puts forth the incorrect idea that every person that chooses military service is somehow a hero.

Umm... Huh? Wut?
fission, ww2 was a long time ago. so was vietnam. since then, the u.s. has engaged in wars against countries that didn't do anything to us. so, recent vets with so-called ugly scars received them due to two reasons. the first is that they chose to go into the military, knowing our history of conflict. second, politicians decided to send them into harm's way.
many that were in the military went in for the g.i. bill and the pension. that's what numerous vets have told me. many also agree that they aren't heroes just because they enlisted. one air force guy told me he sat at a desk and did paperwork for 10+ years. a 30 year navy vet told me how he was stationed in japan for years doing nothing. you might consider these anecdotal stories, but they are the norm. those with the scars are the minority.
so, just because a vet has scars from, say, iraq, or, grenada, that is not due to fightng for our country. as i wrote, outdated.
finally, fowl, i know you've been around, so writing this to you seems odd because i know you know a thing or two.
