As a diamond member I feel frustrated.

My opponent disconnects, 3 minutes pass, and still the match doesnt go to me, the timer just restarts.

Now because my opponent had to go to work or whatever, I have to wait 12 minutes until the clock runs out.

Man, this is frustrating!

Go spend some real quality time with your significant other, then use the remaining 11 minutes to start another game, do tactics, browse the forums. There are far better things to do with life than to stand in front of the microwave oven screaming, "COME ON COME ON I AIN'T GOT ALL MINUTE!"

Didn't you post a whine about this sort thing a couple of months ago?

Well, as a Gold Member, i feel unsympathetic.

And when you first whined about this a couple of months ago, i felt unsympathetic as a non-paying member.

LOL.   12 mins??   12 WHOLE mins??   I can get somebody pregnant in 12 mins.

you can do other things while you wait for the other person to make their move/run out of time. I spend my time donating 1000's of grains of rice on FreeRice.com. I also spend my time reading a book, or watching a video. There are plenty of things to do while you wait. Almost all of the grains I donate to FreeRice are done waiting for something, like for a video game to have enough players to start, a slow/inactive chess player, etc.

As a paying member you have the ability to open and play in several games at the same time.

No need to waste 12 minutes of your life - just start the next game after a minute or so.

Ive tried playing multiple rapid games, it just doesnt allow me to do it. Is there an option I have to enable?

If you have a problem with people disconnecting, people in lost positions sitting there waiting for all their time to run out, or people just generally being dicks about chess both in games and on the forums, my advice to you is switch the computer off and don't play chess online at all on any site. Also don't talk about chess on any site. 

What you are seeing is the way it is, everywhere. And I can assure it will never, ever get better,

It won't get much better on any other site. Either deal with it, find something else to do while you wait, or just don't play chess online altogether
