how does chesscom do its ratings this sht is ridiculous

there is no way to predict any kind of playing ability using ratings

i am not usually surprised by my opponent in real chess with real ratings, because they work.

here are some games. First two are against a 1700+ daily opponent who accepted my challenge when i was rated only 1200. The third one is from a fckin 1100 rated player. The 4th and 5th are from a 1500. it is crazy how bad the chess.com rating system is. Both players BTW have played a decent number of games in total so u would think it would be accurate

Games from 1700+:

Game from 1100+:

Games from "1500"+:

wow i cannot believe it. i use my opponents ratings to save my time. i only spend like 5 secs per move usually on a 1100, maybe a lot more for a 1700. that is BS

Well, you are 89-0 and now rated 2045, so it is not surprising you would find lower rated players less than challenging.

You haven't played anyone rated 1700 or above.

Why don't you skip ahead and try a few 2000+ rated players?

bruh did u see the games? i did not say i am not being challenged. if u look at them i am whupping a 1700+ bc he plays like a 500. then i am probaly drawing a 1100, and losing to 1500s. wth

the rating system is messed up. in uscf and fide ur starting rating is ur performance in a tournament not 1200 lmao

Ratings are statistical. Statistics say nothing about the result of an individual game. Anything can happen in a single game.

In a single game, a 2000 player can draw against a super-GM, for instance. I've done exactly that.

Didn't GM Firouzja lose a rated tournament game to a 1900 recently?

u can start at 1800 if u choose professional when signing up

it did not give me the 1800 option i dont think

also i cannot gain rating pts from weak af 1100s. i don't even get 1 pt for a win. i made all my challenges when i was like 1200 so obviously the highest rated i have is 1700. i used to be 2100+

Daily ratings are a little wack until you get out of 2000. Some people play daily like blitz (me), some people lose daily's because they forget about them, some people abuse the analysis board, take the game seriously and actually use the whole 3 days to look at the position.
