9999999% disagree

So then, what DO you agree with?

what about adding a reason sectiin why you arent rematching. if I have to go back to work and just played a rrally good game/series I will mesdage my opponent and let him know why I can't. but I usually always offer rematch...unkess you move really slow...then you're probably not getting a rematch.

There is NO requirement for somebody to accept a rematch.  I would remind members to chat nicely and not abuse or attack another member because you disagree with their opinions.   www.chess.com/community

What if you had to leave or do something but they sent you a rematch? You would just abort? There should be a reason why you decline a rematch.

On a more serious note, wasn't there a suggestion of sending out seeks for sets of games "match seeks"? Like you send out a seek for a 10 game bullet match and the person who accepts HAS to play 10 games. Leaving early is equivalent to losing the remaining games (and the corresponding rating).

I could easily see blitz matches of 3-5 games becoming a popular thing. And a sizeable portion of the 2000+ bullet players seem to like to play several games in a row, and leaving on first loss, leaving on the only win etc. is considered disrespectful. Such complaints would be gotten rid of entirely.

Moreover, the very top bullet players (Firouzja, Naroditsky, Hansen) seem to love to play 100s of games in a row, so enforcing a strict match seek seems like a very useful addition (and not that difficult to implement).

I know this was a joke thread but I often decline. I have 2 children and getting time to focus though one game is hard but 2 games in a row is impossible.

Hard to disagree with the most important person in the world who has been ordained by God as a special person deserving of special treatment. But, huh . . . no.

We know members can't be forced to play a rematch. I'm surprised nobody has thought of the wonderfully simple solution .. that of 10 points will be auto-magically deducted from your rating if declined!

This would only be an acceptable change if the rematch was auto resign on aborts.

We are all victim to the taunt where the opp accepts the rematch then aborts after wasting some time.

As a consequence of this annoying taunt, I never accept rematches with random players.  It's much easier to click on the new game button and get more certainty that abort revenge taunt won't happen! happy.png
