It's certainly not the case that your "mate-in-1" is not mate at all.
Maybe you thought it was mate but it wasn't.

No, you are not Kramnik, neither you are going crazy. This site is a bog, where cheaters are multiplying like bacteria. Unfortunately, lichess does not make big difference, but they are definetely better in catching variant cheaters . I stopped playing classical chess and only play KOTH & 3+ but on chessХХХcom there are hundreds of cheaters that play freely absolutely without exemption, because this poor site obviosly does not support analysis for variants. In KOTH 5+0 at least 2 -3 time dayli Im losing against cheating imbecils rated below 1200 ( blitz or rapid) but playing stronger KOTH than 2200+ tournament opponents that I play with on lichess. I dont pretend to be so strong player, but it is very seldom someone to create tactical combination which I would not see. I will see it, may be move later (which obviously leads to losing the game) but I do see how that combination will happen. Contrary, when playing sub 1200 cheaters, I dont see what happens at all. Suddenly it turns out that each legal move that I can make leads to loss. The big tragedy is, when I block obvious cheaters, their poor buggy logic still pairs me with them and when I do not start the game, Im the one who is punished paying some points from my miserable rating. I dont know why I still keep playing here, probably because I get use to it, but final verdict is Im deeply frustrated with chessХХХcom , no matter that lichess also provides big support for cheaters, its sligtly better.

I believe the easy-puzzle situation is a mistake on chess.com's behalf (the new normal/hard/extra-hard settings do nothing to fix it btw), but I don't believe chess.com should be blamed for the situation with cheaters. They must get at least hundreds of reports each day and its super hard to prove them to be cheating because there's so many ways to do it.

Bad players cry cheater all the time on this site when in fact their opponents played fair, played chess properly and the bad players can't admit they are bad players who can't see move combinations or look at the whole board or even :gasp: think about what their opponent is doing before he sets it up and it can't be stopped.
My advice is to learn how to play chess or just play and have fun.
If you had a mate in 1 chess puzzle that you say was wrong, post it here for us to analyze and we'll probably be able to show that YOU are in the wrong and it is not really mate because of a pinned piece or distant bishop move that many players overlook.
The amount of cheaters on this site is very small. I have seen more bad players accusing me of cheating when I beat them fairly than I have seen actual cheaters playing against me.
The reason for this 'cheater' craze seems to be from arrogant master players who can't admit they could lose or that their skills though once great may have diminished over time(Kramnik) and they accuse everyone of cheating in order to justify to themselves that it couldn't possibly have been their fault. This contagious behaviour then transferred to the lower master players who then have a bad game and instead of admitting it cry 'cheater' to once again not hurt their precious ego. Lower rated players then see this and latch on to it, pretending that they would be master players if not for all of those 'cheaters' everywhere.
People here need to become more humble, and only that way will you improve.
the only thing chess.com is good for is to chomp on hanging pieces.
lichess is where you go to play actual chess.
