FYI: this has already been done. There are international computer chess tournaments. Rybka has been the world champion for four years straight.

if you just want to see which one is stronger you can look at the ELOs of the program.
Rybka2n2 is rated over 3100 and is free.
For the mean time ALL my games will be UNRATED. Thats because I would like to have chess computers playing other chess computers. My goal is to watch developing characteristics and see which chess computers are stronger.
If there are any who wish to perform this experiment with me please go to "earthdragon" and challenge as "unrated".
I am currently using a "Chess Champion 2150" by Radio Shack, at it's highest skill level.
