Chess culture in your city ?
🤔
Is this the symbol of bump? If Urk ain't post #2 then your post is dead. Sorry man.
Several people in my office play chess together, one having only learned how the pieces move a few weeks ago. This is possible because chess is part of the culture, and people hold the game in some vague esteem if they didn't learn how to play as kids. But the state chess association doesn't update its web page, and I would have to drive half an hour to play in a food court on Tuesday evenings. A highly motivated Go association would be able to challenge chess as the mind game of choice here.
In my city righe u go in the chess club on saturday afternoon and u play with the other two or three people that are there or none knoqs what is chess.
Chess culture in my city? Bwa-ha-ha-ha...
I live in the back-woods of New Brunswick, on the outskirts of a little farming community of 5000 people... or as I usually describe it, "tightly wedged in the puckered sphincter of the Canadian Maritimes".
@ blueemu ,their might be a chance that i m biking through your community in late august ,probably i got board and pieces with me ,on my trip from Van to Halifax
So I’d like to take this opportunity to ask you about chess in your city. How is chess viewed in society as a whole? Are there any chess radio or TV programs? Is your cities federation a visible, functional body? How many opportunities are there for kids to play? How could chess become more popular in your city?
