chess engines
Hi everyone just wanted to ask for opinions on Stockfish, Komodo and other chess engines online? How does it happen do they just surf the web till they find someone to play or is it people playing their computers? If it's online I wish to know why. Thanks

I never really thought of the internet as stockfish infested waters...
I don't think the engines hunt down people; People usually find engines to play. You can purchase engines/GUIs, or download free ones from the internet and play against them on your PC. Or, you can play against online engines like the one here at Chess.com.
I figured but I don't understand how they have put a couple engines on here. And why would there be more then what I have seen (Stockfish 3x) (Komodo 1x) and couldn't they play around the clock?

Sorry, I guess we're on a different wavelength or something; I'm not quite understanding what you're asking.
