I was playing a guy at a local club, without a clock, and he didn't even say "you're playing too slow", he left the room and never came back! I thought he went to the restroom, he left the building and went home. I sat there for half an hour before asking the other club members what was going on. They said "Don't mind Jim, he's a little strange." It pays to have a clock, it pays to know who you're playing with.
Chess etiquette

lol eddie
My buddies back in Missouri always complain I move too slowly. I always beat them. It's a nice trade-off
..........I get the same rift from my Buddies in my Fri. Golf league...they say>..."you play to slow bla blah bla..." well in the Chess Club ...no one has said anything but...... I feel I need the extra time to think things out....In a chess match I'd rather take more time and make a safe/ smart play---- than make a quick move and loose the piece! ...................And like My new friend eddie >above said ..I always beat them Too ! ..... I look at it like ..........in both of my hobbies I 'm improving and getting better so time management issomething I need to work on but at least I'm winning at both !!!!! If I play too fast I'd loose more <<

never get influence by somebody action or emotions, you just convert bad emotions into good actions or emotions.good emotions is also a good source of energy unlike bad emotions for thinking. smile laugh and be happy. this too will pass away, lets live for another day with good emotions to make us feel better.
Today I went to the local coffee shop where some people play chess at. There was just this one guy and myself so I offered the man if he wanted to play. He replied saying yes. Well We start playing and maybe 15 moves in and no more than 3 minutes of play. I was cautiously thinking of the best move maybe 30 seconds worth of thinking and all of a sudden the man knocks over his king and says " I am going to have to resign because you play very slow!". I was very flustered by how rude he is! I am new to the game so I really didnt care so much but I have never had someone say that I move too slow! One thing is we werent playing with a clock either! If he wanted to play blitz he should of busted out the clock!
Rant off!
Would like to hear what others think or if they have had this happen to them.
