A couple years ago I ran across something on Mig Greengard's Daily Dirt (great website!) about a funny chess movie that was sort of a spoof of Bobby Fischer's comeback. The premis was that a former child prodigy was returning to chess as an adult - but playing in the scholastic event he had won before ending his chess career. I specifically remember him beating a child, then slamming a piece on the board and going into a huge celebration over his victory.
It was to be an actual film, but I don't think it was ever released, even on DVD. Does anyone know the name of the film or a website where I can see that clip? I'd really appreciate it!
Dunno bout films but have seen a few documentaries on Bobby Fischer's World Championship showdown with Spassky. Great stuff, just goes to show that even chess becomes interesting for the masses when politics is involved.
