Why can't you use Arena?

With i7 and 16 GB RAM, what OS are your running? Lucas Chess is great in Windows.

I have Windows 10 64bit. I'll try that. Thank you for suggesting

If I misclick/pick a wrong piece on arena, say I wanna play nf3 and I click f pawn, I'm unable to unlock/chose knight and can't move anything so I have to restart my board(in analysis)

Just click on that same piece a second time - The second click cancels the operation and allows you to select a different piece.

I use SCID vs PC under Win10 64-bit on similar hardware (Core i7 4790K, 16G RAM) and it does everything one would probably need.

I thought you use Debian?

I also use Linux, but not Debian- rather Manjaro (Archlinux based). Debian is the best OS for production servers.

Is there a reason you are using ms Windows?

Anyone using Linux might consider my new StingRay Chess GUI. Works best on Ubuntu but looks fine on Fedora and on the Raspberry Pi. It supports UCI and XBoard, has most the basic options and looks quite nice (I hope).Give it a try...
